Time is up
Your countdown is ready
Editing rights are saved in this browser. If you clear browser data you can't edit the countdown.
Once created you get a short link to share and a code to embed.
With this tool you can create a countdown to any moment that matters to you, whether it is a wedding, a trip, a product launch or the last day of school. You fill in a few fields, watch a live preview update as you go, and walk away with a short link that anyone can open.
How to build your countdown
- Give it a title people will recognize, for example “Our trip to Lisbon” or “Spring sale ends”.
- Choose the date and the exact time the countdown should reach zero.
- Select the time zone of the event. This matters when guests or customers are spread across different regions.
- Pick a look: ink (dark), paper (light) or ember (orange).
- Write the message that appears when the time is up, such as “We’re married” or “Doors are open”.
- Check the live preview, then save to get your short link in the form /s/xxxx.
Sharing that looks good everywhere
The short link is easy to paste into a text, an email or a social post. When you share it in a messaging app, the link preview includes an automatically generated image, so the countdown looks tidy instead of appearing as a bare URL. If you have a website, the same countdown can also be embedded on your pages.
Private by default, no account required
You do not need to sign up. When you save a countdown, a private edit key is stored locally in your browser. That key is what allows changes, so the counter can be edited or deleted only from the browser that created it. People who receive the link can view it but cannot touch the settings.
Personal countdowns are also kept out of search engines. Your counter is not indexed, so a page about a surprise party will not show up when someone searches for your name. Some time after the target date has passed, the countdown is deleted automatically.
A note on the edit key
Because the key lives in your browser, clearing site data or switching to another device means you can no longer edit that countdown. If you expect to make changes later, create it on the device and browser you use most.
Ideas for your own counter
- A wedding or anniversary link to share with guests.
- A vacation countdown for the family group chat.
- A launch or sale deadline for customers.
- A personal goal date, such as a race day or the end of a training plan.
- A retirement or graduation day for a colleague or friend.
For dates that everyone shares, such as public holidays or exam days, you may not need to build anything: tempoo already has ready-made countdowns for many of them. For everything personal, this tool takes less than a minute.
